Back Trails

Omar Meez Jones
December 3, 2021 - January 14, 2022

Maximilian Contemporary presents Back Trails - a solo exhibition for Bay Area photographer Omar Meez Jones.

From iconic shots of the Golden Gate Bridge to historic images captured in the streets of San Francisco during the BLM protests of 2020; from scenic shots of the redwood forests of Northern California to the deserted streets of Oakland during lockdown, Omar Meez Jones presents the Bay Area in all of its stunning beauty and chaos.

“My goal is to help you understand where I come from as well as fall in love with the locations I visit by sharing my vision and passion through my lens.”

- Omar Meez Jones

As a Bay Area native, Meez is familiar with the environmental and social diversity of the region, and documents it all in his work. This exhibition takes the viewer on a ride through the different pockets of the Bay, through a perspective that only the young visionary can offer.
