A Solo Exhibition for Fabian Ramírez
Atizar: Stir the fire or add fuel to make it burn brighter.
The Spanish word Atizar refers the stirring of the flame to regrow the fire. This is the concept behind Fabian Ramirez’s first exhibition at Maximilian Contemporary, both metaphorically and literally. When the world stopped during the covid pandemic, Ramírez continued working, creating a large body of charcoal drawings on paper. He did not have access to his studio so he needed a material he could use at home.
